The World Award Convention recognizes excellence in education through various awards given out every year. WAC Research Excellence Award (REA)/ Young Achiever Award (YAA): WAC Research Excellence Award (REA) and Young Achiever Award (YAA) are given to recognize and encourage researchers for their outstanding research paper published in reputed International Journals or conferences. More than 100 research papers from all over India will be awarded with these titles. The selection process and benefits for both the awards are the same. The default title for the award is Research Excellence Award, but those who prefer it and are below 40 years of age can opt for the Young Achiever Award title.

WAC Best Teacher Award (BTA) / Academic Excellence Award (AEA): The award aims to acknowledge the exceptional teaching professionals who demonstrate excellence in teaching, actively engage in research projects with their students, participate in professional activities alongside students, have a commendable academic record, and demonstrate growth and achievements in their respective fields. Eligibility criteria require a minimum teaching experience of 2 years and current employment as a teaching professional.

WAC HOD of the Year Award (HYA): The WAC HOD of the Year Award is meant to acknowledge the Heads of Departments (HODs) in different academic departments of educational institutes for their exceptional leadership and management skills. The award criteria are based on their proficiency in managing staff, financial resources, research responsibilities, implementing quality measures to attain Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), and their personal qualifications, including skills, experience, and research accomplishments.

WAC Principal of the year Award (PYA): WAC acknowledges the noteworthy academic accomplishments and professional contributions made by an individual in the field of education. The “Principal of the Year” award is bestowed upon the Principals of Higher Education Institutions who have demonstrated significant contributions to the institution building process through an illustrious career, serving as a role model for academic management, and being highly respected among the community of students, researchers, and faculties.

WAC Student Projects Programme (SPP): The WAC Student Projects Programme aims to incentivize students by granting awards for their academic projects and also to offer a platform to publish their project work in an accessible digital library of academic projects.

WAC Awards for Higher Education Institutions: WAC issues “Emerging College of the Year Award” for Higher Education Institutions as recognition of significant contributions of the institute to the technical society under three categories, namely: Excellent Placements, Academic Excellence, Significant Researches and good Infrastructure.

Institution Awards:For Institution Awards, the submitting institution or coordinator should provide all necessary supporting documents as proof for the selected category. The required documents vary based on the category selected. The institution must upload supporting documents for all information mentioned in the nomination form. It is possible to apply for multiple categories, but separate nomination forms are required for each.

Details of the Awards and the Eligibility Criteria

1. Award for Teachers with Higher Potential

Eligibility

        To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a minimum of five years of continuous experience in teaching at a school. They must have introduced innovative teaching practices or activities that have positively impacted the students’ ability to learn. These practices and activities must be original. A report of three pages should be submitted, including details of the activities and teaching practices, feedback from students, demonstration procedures (videos or tapes may be included), and an endorsement from a higher authority (Head Masters or Principals). The report should not exceed three pages.

2. Award for Professors with Excellence in Teaching in Higher Education

Eligibility

        To be eligible for the award, applicants must have at least five years of continuous experience in teaching at the college level. They must have introduced innovative teaching practices or activities that enhance students’ learning capabilities. These practices and activities must be unique. Applicants are required to submit a three-page report that describes the teaching practices and activities, feedback from students, demonstrations (videos or tapes may be included), and endorsement from higher authorities such as Principals or Secretaries. The report should not exceed three pages.

3. Award for Cutting -edge Researches

Eligibility

          Individuals who have received approval for their research activities from universities, industries, or government agencies worldwide are eligible to apply for this award. Candidates who are involved in UGC projects are also eligible to apply. A detailed report, which includes research problems, data collection methods, research tools, and probable implications, must be submitted to the Award Committee. Research projects that aim to promote social development are given priority. The report may also include bullet points that highlight the social relevance of the research.

4. Award for Achievement of Excellence in Career Guidance and Placements

Eligibility

        To apply for this award, candidates must currently hold the position of Placement Officer in a Higher Education Institution. A report detailing their tenure, efforts to enhance student employability, collaborations with corporations, participation in HR summits, and number of students placed during their tenure should be submitted. Applicants must be Faculty members of the institution.

5. Award for the Think Tanks in Technical Education

Eligibility

        To be eligible for this award, the applicants should have a minimum of five years of continuous experience in teaching at a technical education institution. They should have contributed to bringing about a change in technical education through pragmatic approaches and evolved new strategies for better education using engineering concepts. These strategies and methods should be original. A three-page report should be submitted, including details of the teaching practices and activities, student responses, and procedures demonstrated (videos or tapes can be included), along with a recommendation from the higher authority (Principals or Secretaries). The report should not exceed three pages.

6. Award for Scientists

Eligibility

      Individuals who have submitted path-breaking research papers or made significant discoveries that have the potential to improve the lives of people are eligible for this award. These individuals can be working in private or government industries or organizations. A detailed report on the features of their discoveries or research papers, along with the application form, must be submitted. The report should include a justification of how their ideas and innovations will benefit society.

7. Young Scientist Award

Eligibility

          Applicants should be below 26 years of age and currently enrolled in private or government colleges under any university. They must have invented new ideas, concepts, or objects that include all types of automation or discovered alternative uses of any materials or living things available on the earth. The applicants must describe their innovations in 100 words and may enclose photos of the objects or crafts with their application. Additionally, a Letter of Recommendation from the higher authority of the respective college must be enclosed with the application.

8. Award for the Scientists for Relentless Service

Eligibility

To apply for this award, the candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as Scientists in government organizations or private industries’ Research and Development (R&D) wing. They must submit a report describing the innovative practices and strategies they have introduced in their respective domains, along with a Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from their higher authorities.

9. Award for Pioneer Researches

Eligibility

      The eligibility criteria for this award requires applicants to be Scientists who have been working in either Government organizations or the Research and Development wing (R&D) of private industries for a minimum of 10 years. Their research works should be empirical and original and should have paved the way for further research. In addition, they must have presented at least two research papers, with one of them being presented at a foreign university, and both papers should be listed on GOOGLE SCHOLAR or any other reference sites. Furthermore, one of their research papers must have been published in a globally recognized journal with high impact factor. The applicants should also submit a report detailing the innovative practices and strategies they have introduced in the industries, along with a letter of recommendation issued by a higher authority.

10. The Award of Excellence in PDF

Eligibility

The applicants must be currently enrolled in a Post-Doctorate Fellowship program in any university worldwide. They are required to submit a detailed report on their research and its relevance in the current scenario. Additionally, the report should be accompanied by a Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from a higher authority.

11. Achievers Award for Engineers

Eligibility

         To apply for this award, candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in their respective fields and hold a degree in Engineering. They should have applied their engineering skills to promote the development of society and the nation, with preference given to those who have improved rural infrastructure. Candidates must submit a comprehensive report outlining their expertise and how it has been utilized for the betterment of people. The report must be endorsed by a higher authority.

12. Award for the Engineers with most Realistic Vision

Eligibility

        The candidates must be engineers who have created realistic visions for using technology to enhance the country. They must submit a report describing their visions, the current scenario, the necessity for their visions, the feasibility of their visions, and the approaches for achieving them.

13. Award for the Best Entrepreneur

Eligibility

      The applicants must be individuals who own registered set-ups that are at least two years old and have been registered under the Ministry of Commerce. The report they submit should include the registered title of their set-up, the type of business, the number of employees, their corporate social responsibility initiatives, their vision and mission statements, specific achievements in the past years, any employee welfare schemes, and how their set-ups have contributed to improving human capital.

14. Award for the Innovative Industrialist

Eligibility

        The applicants should be industrialists who are consistently implementing innovative practices to replace the traditional industrial methods in order to modernize the industrial set-ups. They need to prepare a report describing the innovative practices they have implemented and how they have significantly transformed the work environment. They should also mention the departments in which the innovations have been implemented. Additionally, they may include interview videos of employees in the company on a CD or via email.

15. The valedictory ceremony of the conference presents awards for paper presentations that discuss novel and thought-provoking concepts.

16. At the closing ceremony of the conference, an award is presented for the best paper presentation delivered by a presenter.
